From Hospital Bed to Complete Health Freedom: My Story
If you’re struggling with poor health, I want you to know this: I see you, I understand your pain, and I’ve been there.
There was a time when my life was consumed by chronic illness. I was in and out of hospitals, trapped by a disease that doctors told me I’d have to live with forever.
You know, there were so many other health issues I dealt with that it honestly felt like I was climbing a steep mountain every single day. But if you look at where I am now, it’s like a whole new world.
I’m free from illness, hospitals, free from all those pills, and endless doctors appointments, free from pain and sickness and you can absolutely do it too.
Seriously, it’s as if my illness just vanished into thin air, my life-long chronic illness doesn't exist.
And you know what? It all kicked off with one major insight: figuring out how to regulate my nervous system was the key to tapping into my body’s own healing powers and I’m so excited to teach it to you.
The Hidden Power of Your Nervous System
Imagine your nervous system as the control centre of your body, like the traffic controller of a busy road system.
When the traffic controller is working properly (when the nervous system is regulated) all the cars effortlessly drive to where they need to go (all your bodily functions work as they were designed to).
However, if the traffic controller is not working properly (your nervous system becomes dysregulated) he gets confused and sends cars down the wrong roads causing collisions and piles ups and disaster.
In this scenario, your body doesn't know what it's supposed to be doing and so health issues begin to arise or worsen.
Believe it or not, your body know exactly how to heal you, it knows exactly what every system needs to do to create health harmony, but if its controller, the nervous system becomes confused (or as we say 'dysregulated') it cannot do that.
For me, my nervous system had been in a state of confusion for such a long time, it almost felt normal to me to wake up in pain or be riddled with ailments and poor health, it wasn't until I began regulating exercises that I realized, this is not normal and it doesn't have to be this way.
Here’s a quick image i created showing the difference between a regulated and dysregulated nervous system.
But please note: The nervous system affects SO MUCH MORE than what’s shown in this image, i just picked out a few of them to show you in image form the drastic difference.
Every organ, every bodily function, every system within the body is affected. Even things you wouldn’t even think of.
So, what are the signs that your nervous system might be a bit dysregulated? Here’s a list that might hit home for you:
- You feel overwhelmed or anxious, like, all the time. Or sometimes you may feel completely numb mentally.
- You have poor sleeping habits. Either can’t fall asleep or can’t stay asleep. Maybe you even have distressing dreams.
- You’re constantly tired or just lacking energy.
- You find yourself getting sick often or taking forever to bounce back from illnesses.
- Digestive problems? Yep, that's another sign, one I know all too well.
- It’s tough to concentrate, and your brain feels all fuzzy, like you can't think clearly or focus on anything for too long.
- And, there’s that lingering feeling of being “on edge” constantly. Boy, if I could go back and tell myself it is not normal to be feeling this way everyday... well, I could've saved myself some time.
If any of this sounds familiar, your nervous system could probably use a little TLC. The answer is simple, if you dedicate just a bit of time each day to help regulate your nervous system, you will likely see some pretty remarkable changes in how you feel overall.

A Little about Your Chakra System:
I want to take a moment to mention Chakras because they also play a huge part in the state of your physical and mental health.
Chakras is where my healing journey began before I even knew about nervous system regulation. In fact, focusing on Chakra healing is what allowed me to leave the hospital after being told I may have another long stay ahead of me! (You can read all about that here.)
If you don't know, Chakras are energy centres located throughout your body and impact your health (amongst other things) every single day. If these Chakras are open and balanced, the energy is able to flow as it should and everything works in harmony.
If, however, one or more of these Chakras becomes blocked, the energy gets stuck and health problems (amongst other things) begin to arise. I talk about this much more in my FREE Chakra E-book which you can grab below:
How your Nervous System works with the Chakra System for Optimal Health
I mention the chakras because they are one aspect of the three keys that I teach for your best health yet (& honestly, your best life yet because these things impact much more than just your health, but that’s for another post…)
Regulating your nervous system as I said above, allows your body to come out of a state of confusion and begin working as it should, as it was designed to.
Opening and balancing your Chakras allows your body to return to normal functioning, working as it should, as it was designed to.
But here’s where they intertwine and why I love to teach this stuff in this specific way…
Regulating your nervous system, by it’s self, will pretty drastically improve your health, especially if you resonated with the list above. Regulating your nervous system will also help your Chakras to naturally open, balance and recalibrate causing more positive effects on your health.
Opening and balancing your Chakras will drastically improve your health, especially if you understand your specific health concerns as they relate to each of the chakras. (more about this in my Free E-book!)
But the steps you will take to open and balance the Chakras also help to regulate the nervous system.
Now imagine you tackle your health from both angles: Small steps each day to open your chakras and small deliberate steps each day to regulate your nervous system.
It’s a double whammy super boost to your health, each positively impacting the other and creating a knock on effect where you just feel better and better and better.
HOW to regulate the nervous system
The most important thing when it comes to regulating the nervous system is consistency. Just 5 minutes, 2-3 times per day (or more if you feel you need it) of slow, deep breathing can begin to work wonders.
This simple practice activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping your body shift into a state of rest and repair.
You can also explore techniques like EFT tapping and somatic shaking, which I talk about in more detail in my 'Mind Your Body, Hack Your Health' guide (coming soon! Stay tuned!). These methods can be incredibly effective in calming and balancing your nervous system.
Here are some more ways to help regulate your nervous system:
Exercise (even light movement like walking or yoga)
Spending time in nature
Journaling to process emotions
Meditation or mindfulness practices
Grounding techniques (like walking barefoot on grass)
Adequate hydration and nutrition
Getting enough quality sleep
Cold exposure, such as a cold shower or splash of cold water on your face
My personal recommendation? Sit down for 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times per day, and take slow, deep, intentional breaths.
That’s it. Do it every single day for at least 21 days to start seeing the benefits. Consistency is key—stick with it, and you will notice a positive shift in your body and mind.
