Your Thoughts Are Making You Sick: How to Shift Your Energy for Better Health
Today, most people believe that they aren’t in control of their own health. If they get sick, whether that’s flu, endless ailments or chronic illness, most people think that they just have to accept it.
But that’s actually not the case. You have so much more control over your health and your life than you think and today I’m going to teach you how your thoughts are making you sick. (& how to fix it!)
5 years ago I would’ve told you I’m chronically ill and will be in and out of the hospital for the rest of my life. I would’ve told you “My body hates me” or “I always seem to be suffering with something.” Today, however, I haven’t been back to that hospital in 5 years and I won’t be going back any time soon. I’m healthy, happy and in a place I never even thought was possible.
I don’t force myself to eat healthy foods I don’t like, I don’t take any medications nor do I have any fear of relapse because I now know the real secrets to health.
The Hidden Connection Between Your Mind and Body
The average person has around 70,000 thoughts every single day and most of them are the same thoughts repeating day after day.
But the thing is, your body actually hears and responds to your thoughts. Each time you think thoughts of poor health your body responds to that thought as if it were an instruction.
Your mind and body are so intrinsically connected that your body will respond to the thoughts you are thinking each day.
For example, if you’re often thinking about how you’re in poor health, or how you get sick easily you are much more likely to stay sick. Why? Because your body is responding to thoughts or poor health and sickness.
& I hear you “I wouldn’t be thinking about sickness if I wasn’t sick all the time!” But you must understand the vicious cycle you’re in.
As you think about being in poor health, your body responds with more poor health, which makes you think about poor health even more and the cycle continues.
To get out of this cycle you need to step out ahead of it and become aware of your thinking patterns.
You must start to think thoughts of health and wellness on a daily basis and over time your body will begin to respond.
I know this to be true because I’ve done it. I’ve taken myself from chronic illness, ailment after ailment, always having something wrong with my health to the best health I’ve ever been in my entire life.
Why Negative Thoughts Manifest as Illness
If you’re hear reading this, I’m going to assume you’d like to be in better health. There’s something (or many things) about your health that you wish were different. I am also going to assume that you don’t always speak to yourself too kindly.
Do you criticise yourself often? Do you have low self-esteem, anxiety or even depression? Do you feel like you’re broken or not good enough? Then you’re most likely greatly exacerbating if not, causing your health problems through your thoughts.
Negative thoughts about yourself are toxic and if someone would’ve told me this 10 years ago, honestly, I would’ve looked at them like they were crazy.
But this is such powerful information to know that’s its completely transformed my health and my life and it can do the same for you.
Your negative self-talk is doing a whole lot more damage than you think!
Now, one thought here and there isn’t going to do much, but as those thoughts compound day after day, week after week, year after year, they start to wreak havoc on your body and heath.
But this is where we can flip the script and start compounding in the other direction. Through replacing each negative thought with a kinder one you will begin to heal your body and mind.
Affirmations & Healing: The Power of Your Words
Every time you have a negative thought about yourself, I want you to replace it with 2 positive thoughts about yourself. This can be related to health or it can be related to any kinds of thoughts you think about yourself.
It does NOT matter if the positive thoughts aren’t even true for you in the moment. If you repeat them enough times, they will become true.
Remember, your body is listening and responding to what you’re saying, it doesn’t know what’s “true” and what’s not. Here’s some examples:
Negative thought: “I hate that I’m so tired all the time”
Notice the thought, allow it to leave and replace it with 2 positive thoughts.
Positive thought: “My body is healing, and I am patient with myself.”
Positive thought: “Every day, I am finding new ways to support my energy and well-being”
Negative thought: “Everything upsets my stomach, I cant seem to eat anything!”
Positive thought: “There are plenty of delicious foods my body can enjoy and digest well.”
Positive thought: “My body is resilient, and I trust it to adapt and heal.”
Negative thought : “I am so anxious right now, why am I like this?!”
Positive thought: “I am strong, capable, and in control..”
Positive thought: “It’s okay to feel this way, I’m going to be extra loving towards myself today because I deserve it”
As simple as this sounds, it absolutely will have a drastic impact on your health. Make sure to practice this daily to compound the results.
If may feel hard at first but after some time it will begin to feel natural. And as you continue to think kinder, more uplifting thoughts, your body WILL respond, it will begin to detoxify and you will notice a change in your health.
The Role of Chakras in Healing and Well-Being
It would be rude not to mention one of the most important factors in your physical and mental health and that is your Chakras.
If you don’t already know, your chakras are energy centers within your body and you have 7 of them. Each chakra plays a different role within your health and body and they also work together as a system to keep you in good health.
People with blockages in their chakras will experience problems with their physical and mental health.
You can take medications, change your diet, start exercising etc but until you look at your health from the perspective of energy, not much will get better long term. Open and balance chakras are critical to your health.
I first began to learn this when I released my self from hospital by opening my root chakra, you can read about that here. I noticed that when I consistently worked on opening and balancing my chakras, my health (& whole life tbh!) greatly improved.
If life force energy cannot circulate throughout your body and gets stuck it will cause illness.
Chakras are the centres through which this energy flows, therefore, if you have a block, the energy cannot flow, it gets stuck and you experience some kind of health problem(s).
There are many different ways you can open and balance your chakras but one of the most effective is meditation. Simply focus on one or more of your chakras growing in brightness and intensity for 10 minutes each day to start seeing positive effects on your health.
